Champak Vihar

Its Makar Sakranti today. Right behind my hostel , on the GymG football ground, there are about 100-150 students flying kites. The next 15 minutes will see me finishing this post, putting on a sweat shirt and rushing to GymG to find my wingies there. However, I thought this fifteen minute break will be good for another blog entry. That is because the moment I was asked to come to GymG, those days of chetak vihar flashed in front of my eyes(It was one of those classic moments they show in movies, when you are not listening to what the other guy is saying and are lost in your own thoughts). Going with a bunch of friends to the terrace to find another 20-30 jobless boys flying kites over their building terraces, rushing to join the war going on there, the first few futile attempts by the "kite flying master" to get the kite into air and all his maneuvers there after. It was a treat to see the battle of the bests. There were buildings which were our friends and then there were arch enemies. Mostly you couldnt even see the face of the flier, it was just the building that characterised whether he was friend or not. It was an all together different world. Yes, even this world had wars, boundaries, protocols. But who cares, that was a world we created. It was a world we ruled. It was a world above, both literally and figuratively ted.
